February 5th Heart Warrior

❤Heart Awareness month❤ Meet our February 5th Heart Warrior: Karter Sincere Oliver. Son to Khandice.❤

Karter's story:
He was born on 8/29/12 and he weighed a whopping 8pounds 11ounces. He was born at The University of MD Hospital in Baltimore. Karter was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries, Double Inlet left Ventricle, & a Septal Defect. He has had one open heart surgery so far, and the was the Glenn Procedure, as well as a G-Tube Placement.

He'll have to have one more at 3yrs. Old (The Fontan). He is 5 months old now and has finally got the ok to come home after being hospitalized since birth!!

From Lily's Mom: I'm glad to hear that he's doing so well now and that Karter is going home to his family!!

❤The day that Karter was born was the same day that my Lily Grace became an angel. ❤

***Did you know??... In the United States, twice as many children die from congenital heart defects each year than from all forms of childhood cancer combined, yet funding for pediatric cancer research is five times higher than funding for CHD.
